by dnhoshor
Mar 02 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth, quiet, comfortable, powerful 2.5 liter engine
Cons: The keyless ignition is more trouble than it's worth. Complicated radio operation.
The Bottom Line: A fine rental car for ten days, but without the manual, I disliked the keyless ignition.

I rented a 2008 Nissan Altima 2.5 S sedan for ten days in February while on vacation and put 1900 miles on it. The car was generally very enjoyable to drive. Unfortunately, the car rental company didn't have the manual in the glove compartment, so some ...

Pros: Solid chassis, Smooth CVT, Sharp handling, iKey, Looks Good, Comfortable to Drive
Cons: Steel Wheels, Rear headrests not adjustable, option packages.
The Bottom Line: For mid-size sedan buyers who value driver involvement and fuel efficiency, this car is at the head of its class. For all others, it's worth a serious look.

5 month Update: I've put over 8,000 miles on my Nissan Altima since purchasing it. Maintenance: It has gone in for two oil changes, each at the recommended 3,750 mile intervals. 3,750 mile oil change: The first oil ...

Cons: Torque steer evident, No power for passenger seat, White paint colour is inconsistent
The Bottom Line: Excellent car b/c it is beautifully sporty while still being practical.

I bought the Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5 with the premium package, satin white on charcoal. It was purchased in Sept 2007 in Canada. Cars that I cross-shopped this car with include the Honda Accord Coupe, Honda Civic Si Coupe and the Pontiac G6 GXP Coupe. ...

Great for tall drivers!

by tooluser_
Mar 09 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Big enough for 6'6" tall driver. Great acceleration and handling. Fully featured, well laid out.
Cons: Rear headroom is tight. Drivers seat shifts a bit during intense maneuvers.
The Bottom Line: Driver's paradise. Great value. Back seat must make do.

I am an evenly proportioned 6'6" tall male, and have great difficulty finding cars I fit in, mostly due to inadequate leg room. I sat in 130(!) cars at the Dec. 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show (a good workout let me tell you). Price was not much of a ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great style. Good fit and finish. Keyless syste,
Cons: Navigation and blue tooth. Stay away.
The Bottom Line: Nice car for the money stay clear of technology package

Overall I love the car. The technology is equal to cars that cost over $35,000. The ride and handling are superb. The gas mileage is awesome. But. . . I would stay away from the extra money for the technology package. I ordered the car in the exact ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Beautiful, zippy and fun to drive.
Cons: The speed limit in the state where I reside is only 65.
The Bottom Line: This is the car you want to buy if you're looking for great value, fuel economy and a fast, fun drive.

I was set to buy a Honda Accord, had done all the research and made up my mind- and then I saw the Nissan Altima 2-door sport coupe and my avarice for a Honda vanished. Our Nissan dealership was phenomenal. They asked us how much we wanted to pay for ...

Pros: Greatest car I have ever owned.
Cons: The thing I didn't like was it came with Continental tires. So I bought Bridgestones.
The Bottom Line: I would buy this car again and again. I think I did one up grade from standard. Trust me you won't make a mistake with this car.

My family has a 2008 Nissan Altima. we take it every where. There's plenty of room in the back for the kids and still has plenty of leg room for my wife and I up front. Go with an electric adjustable seat if you drive a lot for added comfort. the ...

Beamer Eating Beast...G35's too

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: MONSTER engine, CVT Tranny is NICE, Spacious cabin.
Cons: MAJOR lag in 1st gear, GAS guzzler.
The Bottom Line: If you have the need for speed this is it. If you want efficiency, look elsewhere.

I have been driving the Nissan Altima 3.5 V6 SE for two months now and think I can honestly say that it is a BEAST of a car. The technical guys at the dealership broke it down for me about how the V6 3.5 is a monster engine and that it can easily take on ...

Great on Gas!

by jlynn1976
Jul 03 '08 - Updated Jul 04 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Excellent fuel economy, smooth ride, looks sporty yet sophisticated
Cons: Haven't found any yet
The Bottom Line: Ditch the gas guzzler for this. It looks great, drives great, and my Allstate rep says it's one of the safest sedans on the road.

I traded my Ford F-150 a few months ago for one of these, because my truck was breaking me up in gas. I was lucky to get 15 mpg in the truck. I was ready to cry at first, because I loved my truck, (despite the bad fuel economy)but after a few days, my ...

2008 Nissan Altima Coupe

Pros: Sporty, great on gas mileage, roomy, comfortable, great car for the money!
Cons: At this point, I haven't found anything that I dislike about the car.
I purchased a brand new 2008 Nissan Altima in October of 2007 and must say that I love it. I went from a 2002 Jeep Liberty to the Altima and was a little worried about going back to a car, but I don't regret it at all. I drive about 100 miles a day for work and am getting great gas mileage so far. About 31-32 MPG. The car is extremely roomy and comfortable. A very smooth ride. I had looked at the Toyota Camry, but feel in love with the sporty look of the Altima. Even the interior seems high class with all the chrome pieces. I love how everything on the inside can be hidden if wanted. The cup holds have a door that folds right down on top of them to give a really clean look. Took me awhile to get used to the "no key", but now I don't know what I did before, it's great to not have to pull your keys out of your purse or pocket everytime you get in the car. I really like the new body style of the 07/08, very sporty. The pick up is amazing.

2008 Altima Sedan

Pros: Transmission, ride, economy, trunk space
Cons: None yet
I am amazed at the smoothness of the transmission at Highway speeds. The 2.5 4 cylinder accelerates rapidly.
The transmission does give off some peculiar vibrations
if held at the "right' low speed. But above 25 and on up
it's like an electric motor.

Great visibility, mirrors and window wise. The radio controls are "different" but not a major problem.
The keyless entry/start is also an adjustment.
One writer worried about a child gaining control of the car. If the adult controls the key and walks away from the car . . . . no problem. Remember your foot must be on the brake to start. Teenagers can steal mom's keys on any car.

Can't find anything wrong with car!

Pros: CVT; gas mlg; very short turning radius; pick-up; XM radio; very comfortable to drive
Cons: Navigation system's POIs
We recently bought the 2.5L Altima sedan SL and it is one of the finest cars we've owned recently - this is coming from someone who owns a Jaguar and a BMW!!

The CVT transmission is flawless and Q-u-i-c-k! Over this past weekend my wife, 2 friends and I went to Atlantic City on the expressway. My buddy could not believe the pick up this 4 cylinder car has. We've been averaging 29-30 MPG in mostly highway driving, which is well within our expectations. In fact, we were considering a Hybrid, but after finding out that I could get an audience with Queen Elizabeth quicker than getting delivery of a hybrid car - and that the cost was OVER MSRP for the Camry Hybrid - we felt that the better value over the long term was this 4 cyl Altima. We were absolutely correct! I calculated that it would take 6 years at $4/gallon x 12,000 miles/yr just to break even on the cost difference. I'm all for "green" but these companies are taking BIG advantage of consumers!!
